We Stink

. . . not literally . . . well, I hope not. We stink at blogging. Here's the update and the latest pics of the family.
Clayne finished his MBA program the first week of June (the same day that Mae finished teaching for the year). Since January Clayne has been looking for work. Needless to say, we've really felt the effects of the damaged economy. He continues to apply to different positions.
Mae has been busy with conferences and some part-time work at school during the summer. But most importantly and fun has been spending the day with Ethan.
Ethan is growing faster than his parents ever expected. He continues to be in the 99th percentile for his height. He has started to go to nursery at church and gets so riled up there that he falls asleep on his way home from church. He is starting to verbalize more and most definitely understands more of what we say. So much fun!

Do You Remember When . . .

. . .You were a kid? Clayne and I had a great idea for Family Night . . . make a fort out of blankets. We were remembering when we were kids and we would transform our parents living room into a fort with different rooms and we would sneak food in there and crawl around and chase each other. So, we decided to relive that moment for our FHE activity a few weeks ago. Ethan thought it was pretty cool. However, it is a lot harder to navigate the narrow pathways as an adult.

Summer Fun

Well, Ethan and I are certainly enjoying the fact that it is warm outside and that there is no school for me. We are also enjoying the fact that Clayne is home with us in between his classes. We made the best $6 purchase in this little pool that can barely accommodate me holding Ethan. The great thing about it is that it came with these awesome floaties! We are enjoying our new place. You will notice the squash plants that are thriving in our patio grow-box and the privacy of this patio is awesome! Hence, I ventured out in all my post-giving birth-glory.

We are especially happy this summer to have Mom and Dad Shakespear back home from Argentina. That's right, I finally met my father-in-law. They have been serving in Argentina for the past three years as mission president. I must admit that I was nervous to get acquainted with them, but it was a happy meeting and I can tell that they are kindred spirits already.

Mica Hunt

Grandma Durfee's house in Almo, ID. We went on a Mica hunt for old time's sake. For those not familiar with Mica, it's some type of rock with a mixture of minerals including one that glitters. Even though it has no value, growing up we enjoyed digging for it and hiding it so we could find it the next time we visited Grandma's house. There's also a clip of Ethan playing the piano. He wrote this song himself.
